Dyslexia is not fround in the education system because is seen as a disability and a
different learning style. But in the job market dyslexia is still fround upon.
Question
Do you tell your boss or not.
Answer
Its a diffcult to answer, I would depned on you role. But after your probation you can
because they have excepted you for the role.
Personally I never try and have a role in a companz which means I need to write alot.
Because problems will occure. I try to get a role which I can use my skills.
Some companies understand how to support dyslexics. Some companies are happy for
their dyslexic staff to say they are dyslexic on emails, incase of any errors in writing.
Its worth mentioning to members in your team who you trust, to read through your work if
its going to customer of the management.
Dyslexia is classed as a disability, so i company can not make your unemployed because of it.
If you do get sacked because of your dyslexia errors, and you havnt told them you are, you
can not then take them to court for wrongfal dismissal and breaking the disability act.
I recommend telling them you are dyslexic if you are brought into a meeting to discuss your work.
Good luck.
