Light Sensitivity

Asfedia or Scroptic Sensitivity is when the brain and the difficulty to see the words
and letters on the paper, in the depth of sensitivity needed.

The symtoms of scrotpic sensitivity or Asfedia:-
– Head aches
– Tiredness
– Glare on the paper
– seeing the words move or vibrating like letters and words
– seeing river like images flowing around the page
– Not being able to focus on the words

The best way to test for the Scroptic Sensitivity or Asfedia is to place coloured
overlays over the page of writing to if you or the student can focus on the words
better than normal. Try with a number of colours like:-
– Blue
– Pink
– Red
– Yellow
– Orange

To help to beat Scroptic Sensitivity coloured lenses in glasses or coloured eye
contact lenses are used.
Not every Dyslexic has Scroptic Sensitivity. Only 4% of the Dyslexic population
have the condition.

With the colour the reading should looks clear to read. The letters in the words
should: –
– Not appear to be splitting away
– Not appear blurred
– Not appear to be hazed
– Not to have a glare

The word should look absolutely clear. The words should stand out from
each other.
